Over the last few weeks, many of you have sent me messages of upset feeling our realm has been invalidated or thinking that I changed things drastically without a town hall meeting.

I would like to remind you that I never have and will never make drastic changes such as a realm name change without discussion with all of you. Your voices matter to me, as I have always strived to make Tamerlane a true democracy. Your support over the years has been invaluable to me, and I would never do anything to make you feel otherwise. I, nor any of Tamerlane’s council, have intended to “slap anyone in the face” by making them feel lesser than.

Since March 14, 2007, our realm has been called The Kingdom of Tamerlane. That will not change in the foreseeable future without a vote among its citizens.

With that said, I would like to reassure all of our citizens that despite notecards that have been passed out through the MGA and other such groups, not written by Princess Ophelia, Princess Sabryne, or myself, our realm is still THE KINGDOM OF TAMERLANE without quotes. Our people are all still Tamerlonians and not Nevermorians, as many of you have been asking about.

Nevermore is merely one of our 2 current sims. It is basically a “province” of Tamerlane, just as it always has been alongside Amontillado and when we had Maelstrom and Lord Spectre’s sim.

I believe the confusion with others lies in the fact that most realms we do sport with have only 1 sim. So when I have said, “I am going back to Nevermore,” they didn’t understand that I only used the name of the sim to designate to other Tamerlonians which sim I was going to. Simply saying, “I am going back to Tamerlane,” or “I am going home,” would be too vague of where I was going.

When we used to have the “Weekend Recovery Joust,” it was falsely dubbed the “Nevermore Joust” by Lord Nyza Stillwater, which may also lead to other people’s confusion, despite being told that the name is Tamerlane. Many of you will recall that Capt Blinker used to call our realm “Tamerlance” every time he visited and still does to this day.

Our points used to be counted under Tamerlane. Since we have returned to the Sports community, our realm points have been erroneously changed to “Nevermore” despite my attempt at correction. Sometimes you have to roll your eyes and suck it up. Please do not take that as saying I do not care. Sometimes you have to consider the source that you are dealing with primarily.

In closing, I will be calling a town hall meeting amongst Tamerlane’s citizens. Our discussion will be closed to those who are not residents, our roleplayers, or among our teams. I will be putting up our points in our private discord meeting hall and directly sending them out to you in notecard form.  I ask you to formulate your thoughts, opinions, and desires as you read the issues to be discussed. As always, you are all free to add your own points of discussion.

I will let you know when the meeting will be scheduled and alternative means of having your voices heard if you cannot make the meeting at the scheduled time and date.
