A good role-playing game can be a rewarding experience. Sitting around a gaming table like in our Gaming Lab in Second Life, chatting in a Discord channel, or moving your character through a good text-based or LARP-style RP are all fun ways to role-play.
Imagine creating a shared story that leaves everyone in awe. But here's the catch: without a Game Master, it’s not always the same.
Your role as a Game Master is crucial, and we believe you can make a significant difference in our gaming community. As a Game Master, you'll be able to shape unique and engaging stories, foster a sense of camaraderie among players, and develop your leadership and storytelling skills.
If you're passionate about gaming and storytelling, we invite you to step into the role of a Game Master. To apply, fill out an application in Discord or cut and paste the application into a notecard and send it to Bri McMahon in Second Life.
Whether for traditional tabletop role-playing games, our lively Discord channels, or the immersive world of Second Life, we have a place for you.
No experience is necessary as we will train, but it is helpful. A Game Master, often referred to as a GM or Dungeon Master, the DM, is the person who runs the game.
GMs are responsible for creating and maintaining the game world, interpreting the rules, and facilitating the narrative.
This is a non-paying role. We do not make an income with TamerlaneRP. We want to be transparent that this is purely for the love of the game and the joy of storytelling.

Gamemasters for Role-Play

...in Second Life and Discord Forums (non-TTRPG style of Role-Play)
GMs ensure the rules are followed and that no new storyline changes another person’s stats or backstory without their permission, changes faction or realm leadership without the leader’s permission, erases original history and lore, or changes the outcome or landscape of the Verse.
In a text-based, or LARP-style role-play, Game Masters can chronicle new arcs and storylines as they are created in Freeform RP, with character-driven stories.
During Narrative-Focused Roleplay (NFRP), Gamemasters can help guide the path of roleplay, offering structured encounters, moral dilemmas, or lore-rich quests that connect to our world’s history and larger myths. Dice huds can be used, and some Role-Players enjoy huds in Second Life like Spellfire.
