What is a Ranger?

Rangers – Also known as hunters, scouts and archers, the Ranger is the eyes and ears of Tamerlane. They often find out information or discover enemy scouting parties before the Guards at the gates do.

Rangers are wise and cunning, and tend to love nature. They are skilled with a bow, tend to be well versed in other forms of combat, and many dual wield melee weapons, you will never see one carrying a shield.

They excel at stealth, and many of them are able to infiltrate enemy lines easily. They are masters at trap building and detecting, tracking, and the ability to leave no trail of their own behind.

Rangers are well versed in herbs and poisons for medical uses and combat. Their ability to communicate with animals and read their signs of warning also makes them the best type of scouts as a preventive measure.

Rangers often compete in archery and melee  competitions throughout the realms.  Rangers may also joust.

Ranks:

Ranger Commander:

The Commander of the Rangers and apprentices.

Senior Ranger:

A seasoned Ranger, who has the job of training rangers and apprentices, and leads groups of them as well.

Ranger:

A full fledge Ranger, able to work on their own and often help train Apprentices.

Apprentice:

An aspiring Ranger, going through their training.

Ranger Extra Duties

Ranger Council

The ranger council is comprised of appointed memebers above the rank of Apprentice Ranger. Duties of the council is to suggest and advise the Ranger Corps Commander in the best interest of the Rangers Corps, as well as keep the Commander in check.

Queen’s Advisors

Often the Queen will pick a select handful of Rangers to be her advisors, as they are the true eyes and ears of the realm.
