Tamerlane Estate Rules for the Kingdom of Tamerlane

Section 1. INTRO AND COMMON SENSE SHIT

Intro

Welcome, and thank you for visiting the Kingdom of Tamerlane!

This covenant is designed to protect and inform visitors, residents, staff, and the estate's owner. We strive to keep the Kingdom of Tamerlane pleasant and enjoyable for everyone, but occasionally, we will enforce the rules.

These sims are privately owned and not a democracy. We do ban people, but we have a reason for doing so. If you grief and insist on testing the rules, you will be banned or ejected.

Tamerlane is an Adult-rated estate that includes both Nevermore and Amontillado.

BOTH NEVERMORE AND AMONTILLADO are roleplaying sims where violence, sexual situations, and general goofiness may occur frequently, particularly in designated areas.

I, Bri McMahon, make no promises about lag. We try to keep our sims lag-free and restart as needed. I ask that sim-paralyzing items be put away. If an object is causing "emergency-type" massive lag and possible crashes, I will notify you and return the object. If you are not online, I will return the object without warning.

Sim Themes

The ground (Capital City) of Nevermore is open-themed as far as dress goes.
Builds in the City are:Steampunk, Poe Victorian, and Medieval, with a modern movie theater and Speakeasy/Game room.

Each new plane will have its own theme once built,  such as Dark Victorian, Viking, Steampunk, etc.

Common Sense Shit You Should Already Know

You get one and only one warning if you violate these common-sense things unless expressly noted.

1. If you do not read the covenant, that doesn't mean you are exempt from the rules. Ignorance is not bliss here at the Kingdom of Tamerlane. The URL to the website is posted as part of our parcel name and is clearly visible, and you should make it a habit to read the covenant when you visit any sim. If you break the rules and get banned, you can't whine that you didn't know.
2. We welcome residents and guests from many SL cultures and interest groups. We are a safe space for women, LGBT people, and people with disabilities. We are furry, tiny, and other nonhuman friendly. Harassment is NEVER tolerated. YOU WILL BE BANNED WITHOUT WARNING!
3. Griefing, spamming, or shooting people without consent and/or on others' property, spy scripts, and harassment of other residents, visitors, or staff will not be tolerated.

Griefing Is:

• Annoying particles that have no bearing on roleplay or combat.
• Shouting and disrupting role play or combat, or doing anything to prevent people from doing those things.
• Running people over with your vehicles... mainly modern vehicles such as motorcycles, cars, etc. If you are seen dropping one of those things without clearing it with an admin first, you are considered griefing.
• Hacking into any locked building you know you are not welcomed into will be considered griefing.
• Items that cause large-scale disturbances are considered griefing.

4. DO NOT impose your roleplay on those who are not here to participate in roleplay. In the case of other role players, make sure each has made their terms of engagement clear. If you do not do so before engaging, we won't comfort your butt hurt.
5. Rented homes are OFF LIMITS unless you have been invited. Most of us would not break into someone's home in real life; let's not do it in SL, either.
6. Don't be a drama llama... We aren't grade K... if you can't play nice in our "sandbox," take your toys and go home.
7. There is a no gambling policy on SL now, and we are not a gambling sim. We do not advocate and will not tolerate that kind of thing here. If it is found, a warning will be given, and the issue needs to be corrected. If it is not, you will be evicted; no refunds will happen at that point. *Note: we have a fun game room inside the Speakeasy you are welcome to play at. We have Cards Against Humanity, Skipbo, Greedy, and Yahtzee.*

8. “WELL MET” and “GREETINGS” are common ways to say hello to someone, roleplay or not. You may not orbit someone who waves at you and says, “WELL MET!” You will be considered a griefer and penalized accordingly.
9. You also may not orbit someone for using Old English, broken English, or telling you that English is not their first language. Griefer rules apply to you!
10. Being a poor sport and throwing a tantrum because you either lost a match or didn’t make it to the first place podium, causing you to rage quit, and then grief the place will get you reported to Linden Labs, banned from our estates, and reported through the medieval sports community.

The HELL NO list

1.No combining sexual activities of any kind with underage avatars. 0 tolerance… not happening! You won't get a warning or IM about it, just banned and reported.
2. No racial slurs or hate speech,
3. No bullying,
4. No casinos, No camping chairs, No scamming, No yard sales, No big ugly signs. No Gachas as of Sept 1, 2021.
5. No clubs without prior permission. You can use our facilities for free if you want to have a party.
6. No push security systems, No general ban lines, No Temp on rez (zero prim) devices to be used for structures.

Section 2. THE FULL RULES

Agreement of 18 and over policy

BY ENTERING TAMERLANE ESTATES, YOU AGREE THAT YOU ARE OVER 18 YEARS OLD AND AGREE TO FOLLOW THESE RULES. YOU AGREE THAT YOU ARE NOT OFFENDED BY VIOLENCE, SEXUAL CONTENT, ADULT LANGUAGE AND WILL NOT HOLD THE OWNER OF THE SIM OR ITS LEGAL PARTICIPANTS LIABLE.

PARTICIPANTS UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE ARE ONLY ALLOWED AT

1. DURING EVENTS (SPECIAL LOCATIONS THAT WILL BE LISTED BEFORE THE EVENT),
2. MOVIE THEATER,
3. TOURNAMENTS (AT THE TOURNAMENT FIELDS, MAIN ENTRY AREA, OR NEVERMORE WATERWAYS),
4. THE PARK INCLUDING GARDEN, OUTDOOR VENUE, AND SKATING RINK,
5. TO SHOP AT A STORE IN THE REALM AS THOSE ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

Child avatar policy

CHILD AVATARS ARE PRESENT IN TAMERLANE. MANY HAVE BEEN BORN HERE, MANY MOVE HERE WITH THEIR PARENTS AS THEY LOOK FOR ASYLUM.
WE HAVE STRICT RULES INVOLVING CHILD AVATARS AND THEIR PRESENCE IN AN AREA:

1. REGARDING NUDITY: IF A CHILD AVATAR IS PRESENT ALREADY, NO NUDITY. YOU MUST COVER UP OR GO TO ANOTHER AREA. THE CHILD MUST REMOVE HIM OR HERSELF IMMEDIATELY IF THEY WALK INTO A NUDE SCENE.
2. NO SEXUAL ROLE PLAY: THE CHILD MUST REMOVE HIM OR HERSELF IMMEDIATELY IF THEY WALK INTO A SEXUAL SCENE.
3. CHILD AVATARS NEED TO MAKE THEIR PRESENCE KNOWN IMMEDIATELY ON ENTERING THE SIM. ON ENTRY SHOUT SOMETHING LIKE “CHILD AVATAR HAS ENTERED THE SIM.”
FAILURE OF ANY OF THE THREE ABOVE WILL RESULT IN A TEMP BAN.

Micro and Tiny avatars

THOSE IN MICRO AND TINY AVATARS SUCH AS ANIMALS, FAE, IMPS AND DEMONS ARE EXEMPT FROM THE CHILD AVATAR RULE PROVIDED THE USER IS OVER 18 YEARS OF AGE.

About OOC and Roleplay.

NEVERMORE: OOC IS OK IN THE CAPITAL CITY, ESPECIALLY DURING EVENTS, TOURNAMENTS, SHOPS, SPEAKEASY/GAME ROOM, THE THEATER, AND THE PARK.

IF YOU ARE EXPLORING, YOU ARE MORE THAN WELCOME TO DO SO. PLEASE PUT ON OUR HONORED GUEST TAG (PROVIDED TO YOU IN A FOLDER OF INFO ON ARRIVAL) WHEN LEAVING THE CAPITAL CITY OR ENTERING THE OTHER PLANES. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL BE YOUR DECLARATION YOU ARE THERE FOR RP AND OR COMBAT. ESPECIALLY IF YOU JOURNEY INTO THE ROLEPLAY PLANES THROUGH THE PORTALS.

NO COMBAT IS ALLOWED IN THE CAPITAL CITY UNLESS TRAINING, TOURNAMENT, OR OTHER SPECIAL EVENT IS HELD AND SCHEDULED. PLEASE PEACE KNOT YOUR WEAPONS!

AMONTILLADO IS A ROLEPLAY SIM. WHILE EXPLORING IS ENCOURAGED, ENTERING WITHOUT AN HONORED GUEST TAG STATES THAT YOU ARE THERE TO RP OR PARTICIPATE IN POTENTIAL COMBAT.

Blood Lines

We are a Bloodlines-friendly sim, as many of our members and allies have played since the game began in 2008. You don't have to be in Blood Lines to join the Kingdom of Tamerlane, and we welcome other friendly clans to join our family of role players and sports team participants.

With that said, unsolicited invitations or poaching is not tolerated.

Escape Clause

Should there come a day when Tamerlane must close, Bri McMahon will do her best to compensate the remaining residents, but this is NOT a guarantee. There are no refunds; however, if I must sell the sims, I will work out something with the new owner on your behalf or give you some of the money I get from the sale to make up for rent still available to be fair to you. If that day comes, you will know in advance!

Final agreement of entry

FULL ESTATE:  YOU FURTHERMORE AGREE THAT THE OWNER OF THIS SIM AND ITS LEGAL PARTICIPANTS DEFER TO THE TRESPASSING PARTY ALL RESPONSIBILITY BEYOND THIS AGREEMENT, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LEGAL LIABILITIES.

YOUR ENTRANCE INTO THIS ESTATE (SIMS INCLUDE NEVERMORE AND AMONTILLADO) DECLARES THAT YOU UNDERSTAND AND AGREE TO THESE TERMS; IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND AND AGREE, DO NOT ENTER THIS SIM.
