1. ABSOLUTELY NO AGE-PLAY IN ANY SEXUAL SITUATION!!!! In the United States, the federal age of consent is 16. Despite this law, we at the Kingdom of Tamerlane do not allow sexual play of avatars who appear to look under 18 years of age. In some countries, the age of consent is 21, so please age and look your avatar accordingly. If you break this rule, all participants will be ejected and perm banned. Underaged avatars (under the age of 18) must be clothed at all times, and to stay away from any sexual content.
2. If you must use OOC please use brackets. Example: ((I need to go AFK for supper)). When possible, do this in IM or group chat.
3. Conversations of an OOC nature need to be done in IMS or in Group Chat.
4. Vehicles must be time period or alien/divine in fashion.
Examples: horses, other ridable animals such as dragons, but good luck getting a dragon to lower him or herself to be your mount… 🙂
We do have a Stargate and TARDIS landing pads. We look at those as alien or divine in fashion.. and time-traveling enhances roleplay for many people.
5. There is no HUD BASED combat allowed in the Capital City.
The only exceptions to this rule are:
- Training for the Rangers, Knights, and military which may occur on the Castle courtyard.
- Competitions
- Agreed sparing in competition and training areas
- Realm arranged sieges
- shop owner arranged raids
If caught doing HUD-BASED combat anywhere else in the Keep, you will spend time in the Lady King’s Brig.
6. Faction buildings play an important role in roleplay here at Tamerlane. When the faction is having a meeting, unless you are in that faction, it becomes a no-entry zone unless invited. You can not break into a building during these meetings by any means.
7. Don’t just say you are doing something, emote it! If you claim to be a master tracker, emote what you are seeing and what you are doing. The same goes for trap building, detecting, disarming, lock picking, etc.
8. If people go into a locked building, respect their privacy. They went in there for a reason, you might not want to see what they are doing. 🙂
9. If you claim you have the gear, wear something to reflect that gear. (Example: Lock picks and tool bag).
10. No piggybacking or sit hacking to get into any locked building. It’s locked and you do not have the key because you are not allowed in it.
11. Please ask role play limits of other people (many have these already in their picks in their profile.) before engaging in certain types of roleplay.
12. Combat through text is allowed here, do not GOD MOD. Talk to your opponent on what is their preference. Weapons are also allowed, we use both Spellfire and Unity. Weapons are to be period. (Swords, maces, axes, bows, etc). Dice can also be used for non-hud system combat and RP. (We have a dice hud for free in the Role-Play Hall).
13. DO NOT use the map or minimap or radar to locate enemy factions during any roleplay, at any time.
14. DO NOT teleport out to stop yourself from becoming incapacitated during combat.
15. If you set off bombs or devices that cause a large-scale disturbance, you will be ejected and banned without a warning. Same if you show up and randomly start shooting guns at people.
16. Magic (or Lore at Tamerlane) is only usable by the Scholars, certain races, and Rangers as heals. The exception to this rule is for our Magic Tournaments and team training.
17. NO GOD MODDING OR META GAMING!! EVER!!
18. If you have captured someone in battle, talk to them about any limits before you mutilate, rape, cut off limbs, etc.
19. There is no permadeath here unless the player chooses to not be alive anymore, or wants to be an undead as a possible character outcome. Most combat ends with being on the cusp of death, needing attention from a healer of some kind. If you do roleplay your death in combat, your friends can take you to a cleric for re-embodiment. (See Re-Embodiment Notecard in world or Death, Preservation and Re-embodiment page on the website.).
20. If you are using any of the rooms on the ground of Nevermore, (Example: having sex in one of the rooms in the tavern), you can expect to be walked in on, or even attacked.
21. Sex and nudity ARE allowed WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A CHILD PRESENT. Please keep in mind we are not a free sex sim, do not use this as a way to solicit sex from everyone you see on the sim. Those available for sex will be marked as a Sex Merchant. Also, do not use this as a simple way to get your jollies for the moment.
22. All sexual play between two or more people should be done in IM or group conference.
23. If you must go AFK, please put a titler on that says AFK, and remove yourself from combat areas if possible, especially if you are going to be gone longer then 2 minutes.
