Greetings and Salutations, Tamerlane Family! It's time for our 2024 in review! I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year and your 2025 is off to a brilliant start!

You don't have to be a member of Tamerlane in SL to participate. We have members that are Discord only, SL only, and, at this time, LOTRO only. You can pick a lane or merge into all three.

Our RP is set up so that no special times are needed for RP. You can RP in Discord, SL, or both anytime. Areas in Discord are set up and ready to go. We also have members that RP in LOTRO! You can RP anywhere, and TamerlaneRP is in the process of being everywhere!

We also have our Website and Player's guide for you to review, and we hope it will enhance your role-play.

2024 was a year of both triumphs and tribulations and we, as a community, faced them all with resilience and determination.

In 2024, we bid farewell to two long-time and beloved members of our community, Dam Schmooz and Ally. Their absence is deeply felt, and their memory will forever be cherished.

- Our Discord server has seen significant growth, with the addition of new activities and channels, such as our Book Club and Writer’s Coterie, reflecting our community's ever-expanding horizons.

- The Player’s Guide was moved to World Anvil, allowing more features and room. The Guide is coming along very well, and soon, we will have character sheets for those who want to use one for their role-play. World-building for our Role-play world is still ongoing.

You will need a free account to create your character sheet.

- Our Pathfinder campaign, “Way Up North,” ended the year with Session 53, and we are still rolling along. We are having so much fun that… well, you will see below.

- The ground of Nevermore was finished, and rental homes for your living or role-playing enjoyment were integrated into the sim. We also added role-play businesses that may be rented for your role-play character to run and enhance your role-play.

- Our new club was built off the landing point on Nevermore, and our park was finished. It includes an outdoor event area like we originally had, but it has a more romantic flair this time.

- Museums were replaced with updated buildings.

- The classroom and bank were moved out of the Underdark area, and I need to get things together and plan for you.

Event times and days are still being configured, as we spent last year trying to accommodate everyone's availability and time zones.

An online community comes with unique challenges when you are blessed to have people from around this Earth ball involved, from the U.S. to Europe, India, and Turkey.

We don't want anyone to feel as if they are being left out or behind. Non-members are welcome to hang out and use our facilities.

Already Scheduled

- Our once-a-month movie night will continue on the third Friday of the month in our theater on Nevermore Island. Our theater is always open for your enjoyment. Bring your friends, and host your watch parties. Enjoy.

- Pathfinder will continue every other Saturday at 5 pm SLT, continuing in our Discord voice server and Roll20. Many of us also assemble in the SL Gaming Lab.

- Our LOTRO Night will be on the fourth Thursday of the month. Days may be added as we progress through the year.

New Times and Days

We are working on availability to continue with the following

- Monthly game night in our SL Speakeasy, with games such as Skipbo, Cards Against Humanity, Greedy, etc. Remember, the speakeasy is always open for you all to play games. You are free to host your game events!

- Once a month, Saturday Matinée with Ophie. The question is, which Saturday at the moment? The time will still be noon SLT.

Making a Return

- Special Events such as our Labyrinth Ball, Dark Alice, Beach Party, etc.

- Haunted Nevermore. We haven’t been able to put this on for more than a few years. It is a special event that many of you have expressed that you are missing.

- Monthly exhibitions in our Museums include Artists of all mediums and Authors who want to share their work. We plan to bring back the permanent Poe Gallery, Tolkien Gallery, Capa Gallery, and old Master art exhibits, as well as our monthly information exhibits, such as Native American Month and Irish Pride Month.

- Classes of all kinds. Role-play classes, Bloodlines Classes, building classes, etc.

- Badge workings for Bloodlines and other Bloodlines events.

- We want to bring back live DJed events in the new Club, Speakeasy, and Outdoor Venue. Hosts and DJs are needed. Tell your friends who might need an SL job.

If you are a DJ, and I know we have a few here, you know what to do. *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*

Live musicians. As most of you know, we were a venue with 7 days a week of DJ’ed events and live musicians. We had some big names such as Zach Loon, Morton Shaman, Strummer Voltee, Blue4U Nowikca, and MrMulti Writer, among others.

Nevermore Island gave a few musicians their start in SL, such as Mance Moonwall, Terrylynn Melody, and Midnight McCarty.

It is a plan to have at least one live musician show each month.

Planned New Events

- VTM Table Top Game that will combine VTM, WOD, & White Wolf, so yes, you can be a werewolf vampire hunter... I would like this to start in March, so those interested in details and making characters should DM me. Plus, let me know your availability.

I will be GMing this campaign through Discord Voice and Roll20 and sitting in Tamerlane's Gaming Lab.

- Weird Pete's Challenge - D&D v. 1 using Tom Moldvay's basic D&D rules - Cas will run this challenge, and the start date will be based on interest and getting characters together.

- For our writers, not only do we have a forum where you can share your short stories, you can also request edit help. We have a writing sprint bot already set up for your use.

I want to do a write-in at least twice a month to hang out and work on our writing together.

- For readers: We have already set up a reading club. For February, I would like our members to develop prompts for our reading. It can be two books we pick and decide which is the winner, or we can just put out a prompt, and everyone can choose their book to read for the month.

The following are not role-play jobs, and other than tips for some of the obvious ones, they are volunteer-based.

- DJs and Hosts. DJs are needed for the Club, the Speakeasy, and the outdoor venue at the park. They may also be needed to open art exhibit event parties. Hosts are needed for the same events as DJs but may be needed to host other events, such as Movie Night or Speakeasy Game Night, if the regular host cannot be there.

- Haunted Nevermore Committee.  Sab and I need others to help us plan, develop ideas, decorate the sim, and make a thing or two.

- Article writers for our website and support social media. Writers, Videographers, Photographers, you name it, we need it.

- People willing to teach classes. Classes can range from Bloodlines, Role-play, Building, Photoshop, Gimp, SL weapons play, etc. If you can teach it, we would love to have you.

- Tour Guides and Greeters. As easy as it sounds. Greet People who land on Nevermore, show them around the Sims, and tell them what we are about.

We also welcome event ideas that can be implemented in SL, Discord, or another game that allows free players or that can be combined into all three.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all of you for your unwavering efforts and active participation throughout 2024. Your collective spirit makes us a family. I love every one of you.
